Jesse Dreyer is a composer, arranger, orchestrator and project manager. Her versatility and dynamic skill set help her to navigate the fast-paced worlds of film, television and music she is passionate about.
Based in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Jesse has a Bachelor’s degree in Music and is currently busy with her Master’s degree in composition under the guidance of Dr. Gerhard Roux and Dr. Philip Antoni Schonken. This tutelage has been enriched by the privilege of receiving masterclasses from prominent composers such as Martijn Padding, Andile Khumalo, Paul Hanmer and Kevin Volans.
Jesse has had more than 20 compositions performed by local and international musicians since 2015 and is regularly involved in collaborative projects with The Animation School in Cape Town, one of which won a SAFTA and Gold World Medal at the 2017 New York Festival. She has served as music production project manager for several productions such as Rooted, an International Wildlife Film Festival award-winning documentary in 2017. Jesse is also regularly involved in the organization of contemporary music concerts. Excellence, reliability and friendliness are the qualities Jesse prides herself in, carrying out all her tasks with efficiency and finesse. She believes creative industries require innovative thinkers with creative solutions combined with pragmatism and hard work, the balance of which she will strive to master at any given opportunity.
